Michael Pachla: One Buffalo, Two wins For the first time since January 3, 2010, both the Sabres and Bills come out on top on the same day.

The Sabers did well in the national spotlight on Tuesday

I don't know about you guys but I'm getting real sick of these Coach's Challenge's where a legit goal is scored, and then the team that was scored on can go back and challenge entrance into the O zone which may have occurred 30-60 seconds prior....and in hockey that's a lifetime.

This has happened twice to Buffalo now, and I'm sure other teams as well. This recent challenge in the Florida game wasn't as bad as the disallowed goal during our earlier game against (i think) the Senators. That one was offside by maybe an inch...are we really expecting the ref to call an offside penalty to that degree because if that's the case what prevents any coach from challenging any goal, just have to go back far enough in the tape and you'll find a missed call!

Seems to be a bit of a slippery slope to me.

I have to say I missed the entire Sabres game and only caught some of the Bills game (I was reffing an ECHL game down here) but from everything I read (red) Ullmark played a helluva game.

It's nice to see a goalie carry a struggling team (when we actually want to win). It's Friday and both the Sabres and Bills won last night. Let the partying begin!

Skunk 16 games 6 pts

82/16 = x/6

16x = 492.

x= 30.75

He's on pace for a 31 point season, I think.

Needs to be a "substantial causation" element.

Sort of like the NFL has on pass interference when the pass is uncatchable. If the penalty doesn't really impact the play, then it shouldn't be reversed.

that brings in too much of a human element.. whos to say one persons opinion of affecting the goal is the same as someone elses.. if they are doing that it needs to be strict parameters like a set time elapsed

Then it becomes even more subjective. Offsides is the one call in the NHL that is black and white either it is or isn't.

This isn't a bad idea either. If the challenged "offense" occured more than (say) 20 seconds before the goal is scored, then it's deemed to not have been the cause of the goal, and there is no challenge available.
